Protect the Forest is a Swedish non-profit nature conservation organization focusing on forests.

The organization Protect the Forest was established in 2009 by people from the whole country, who are committed to forest issues, because of the critical situation of the forest and the threats against the biological diversity.

We work to protect Sweden’s old-growth forests and other forests with high conservation values.

We also work for a reformation of the forestry into a nature-oriented multiple-use, leaving a lot of room for local livelihoods and sustainable usages of natural resources, recreation and ecotourism.

We oppose present forest management methods since they do not live up to the portal paragraph of the Swedish Forestry Act, which states that the environmental objective and the production objectives should be of equal importance.

We safeguard the Swedish Right of Public Access (a unique right to roam freely in nature as long as we show consideration).
